Mets pitcher Marcus Stroman made his spring debut yesterday. Not really sure how it was because we don’t watch spring training games here. However, according to Mark Gooden of the Washington Examiner, Stroman was pulled after two innings while pitching a perfect game. There’s speculation that there could have been an injury that led to this. Stroman was later on quoted as saying that his stuff was “nasty”. Clearly, this is something we hope improves over the course of the next 4 weeks, along with the nasty weather we’ve been having.
It’s certainly a situation worth monitoring going forward since Stroman opted to not play last year for absolutely no reason. If Stroman is injured or his nasty stuff doesn’t improve and the Mets need to replace him, they have Jordan Yomamoto or Joey Lucchesi to step up in his absence.
